Our Story
WhyofThere are a group of geospatial translators, communicators and technologists. We are geospatial experts who talk the language of business.
Innovation and forward thinking have been key to our success. We began communicating the value of GIS web applications in the 90’s, while most were still focused on desktop GIS. In 2009, with the release of the iPad 1, our focused turned to mobile GIS applications.
We have developed a reputation as geospatial thought leaders and communicators.
Geospatial (meaning place on earth) remains poorly understood. Historically solution providers have focused on the technology, data and output (maps). And not on business outcomes.
We help geospatial solution providers view themselves through a different lens. Over the years we have encountered many problems. We’ve worked with organizations who have built and promoted solutions before understanding the problem. We’ve read wonderful business and content strategy documents, which lack an execution plan. We’ve yawned through marketing blurb promoting products and capabilities. We’ve listened to sales pitches which never once address the customers problem. We’ve watched companies target the wrong market, and wrong audience.
And we have helped correct each of these mistakes.
The biggest challenge geospatial companies face today is not the technology. It is communicating the value their solutions or the services they provide. Go-to-market strategies, content marketing, sales and business development are centred on engaging in the right conversation with the right audience.
